Rudolph William Louis Giuliani III is a former prosecutor, businessman, and Republican politician from the state of New York. Giuliani served two terms as Mayor of New York City (1994–2001). Since leaving office as mayor, Giuliani has founded Giuliani Partners, a security consulting business, acquired Giuliani Capital Advisors (later sold), and joined the Bracewell & Giuliani law firm. In February 2007 Giuliani filed a statement of candidacy for the Republican nomination for the 2008 presidential campaign.
