Chris Dodd Chris Dodd Chris Dodd Christopher John Dodd is an American lawyer and politician from Willimantic, Connecticut. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Dodd served as the U.S. Representative from Connecticut from 1975 until 1981, when he became a U.S. Senator. He has been Connecticut's senior Senator since 1989. In January 2006, he declared his candidacy to become the next U.S. President by entering the 2008 presidential election.

Political career: New Castle County Councilman, 1970-72. US Senator, 1973 - present (elected 1972; re-elected 1978, 1984, 1990, 1996, 2002). Candidate for President, 1988 (withdrew before first primary).
